The second edition of the International alpine solidarity prize has awarded exactly Massimo Matteotti, who since at that moment had led the Pinzolo’s alpine rescue with engaged and passion. Appraised for his fairness and his gifts of big moderation and respect with everybody, he had a particular love for the mountain, turned into a total engaged just when in 1942 he took over the presidency of the Pinzolo’s Sat station.
His engaged in alpine rescue is also witnessed by the many people who have been infected by his passion and tenacity. In particular the young people left he enthraled them in the rescue activities, following his model and example.
In 1978 he received the Gold eagle, coveted recognition given by Sat, for having teach with steady extraordinary exemplariness the most authentic devotion to the mountain relizing in a sole way the Sat’s fundamental aims.
